Here are more notes on Joey Gallo from Thursday night’s 5-3 win over the Mariners, via the Yankees:

LF Joey Gallo (3-for-4, 2R, 2 doubles, 1HR, 3RBI) hit his first HR as a Yankee with a go-ahead three-run HR in the seventh inning…marked his seventh career HR in the seventh inning or later that either tied the game or gave his team the lead (first since a game-tying HR in the ninth on 8/19/20 at San Diego.

Has had each of his first five hits with the Yankees go for extra bases…according to Elias, Gallo is just the fourth Yankee in the last 20 seasons to have his first five hits be extra-base hits, joining Mike Tauchman (first 6H in 2019), Giancarlo Stanton (first 5H in 2018) and Tony Clark (first 5H in 2004).

10 of his last 11 hits and 20 of his last 26H (since 6/20) have been extra-base hits (4 doubles, 1 triple, 15HR).

His 3XBH tied his career high (also 3XBH on 5/16/19 at Kansas City and 6/21/17 vs. Toronto).

Tied his season high with 3H (also 7/1 at Oakland and 5/15 at Houston).

Four of his last five HR have either tied the game or given his team the lead.
