Olympic Basketball: Team USA vs. Czech Republic Game Day Preview – Blazers Edge

Following a decisive victory in men’s basketball against Iran 120-66, Team USA faces the Czech Republic for their final game of group play at the Tokyo Olympics. Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard seemed to find his footing in the showing against Iran as he led the USA in scoring with 21 points, five assists, and two rebounds, while holding his turnovers and fouls to one apiece. Kevin Durant is on the tail of Carmelo Anthony’s Team USA all-time scoring record with only five points to go, so look for him to mark that achievement in this matchup.

The Czech Republic takes on Team USA after losing to the French squad 97-77. It is the first time the Czech Republic has qualified to compete in men’s basketball at the Olympics, and unlike Team USA, they only have one NBA player: Tomas Satoransky of the Chicago Bulls. Satoransky contributed 14 points in the loss to France.
